ThisAbled Speakers and Consultants Bureau Application

ThisAbled is currently recruiting well-qualified speakers and consultants for our National Bureau (the Bureau). If selected to be a speaker or consultant with our corporation, you would present on topics relevant to people with disabilities, professionals, corporations and government.

ThisAbled has access to proprietary curricula and presentations that contracted speakers can use. We can also create new presentations as needed by groups who use the Bureau

Speakers of the Bureau will be selected by the following criteria:

• At least three years of experience in public speaking
• A minimum of four speaking and/or stand-up teaching engagements in the past year
• Ability to answer questions related to topics
• Knowledge of disability culture, people first language and strong presentations skills
• Ability to motivate on diverse topics
• Successfully complete interview and two-day certification training

Consultants of the Bureau will be selected by the following criteria:

• At least two years working in field they wish to consult on
• Excellent writing and reading skills
• Ability to understand complex documents, grants, and contracts
• Must provide writing sample
• If legal consultants must understand the law
• Successfully complete interview and two-day certification training

Speaking engagements may include, but are not limited to:

• State, regional, and national disability specific meetings
• Train the Trainers Functions
• Chamber of Commerce Events
• Government-sponsored presentations
• Collegiate events
• School career day events
• National or regional trade shows and expos
• Retail events and demonstrations

Consulting may include but not limited to:

• Grant writing and research
• Product development and marketing
• Program development
• Campaign consulting
