Disabled Erotic Models: The Need to Feel Sexy Is Universal

By Chloe Kennedy

Busty blondes. Hard, toned, and tanned Matt Damon look-a-likes. Those are the types of bodies you usually see in online porn.

But if you dig deeper, you can find more “specialized” porn, porn catering to more eclectic interests if you will. One of these said interests is disability porn. It’s actually more popular than you’d think. And why not? Are people with disabilities always deemed less attractive than their able-bodied counterparts? I think not. There are a lot of sexy women in wheelchairs out there who are exponentially sexier than most walking women on the street.

Due to these men and women’s eclectic tastes, specialized websites have cropped up to satiate their needs. Gimps Gone Wild (www.gimpsgonewild.com) is one of the more prominent erotic disabled modeling sites. Owner and model, Kitten, says she started her site out of her own personal desire to pose nude. “I saw a few sites for disabled and non-disabled modeling and thought, ‘Hey! I can do that,’ but they were restrictive in the type of modeling allowed, or a certain type was mandatory (nudes),” she explains. “I wanted to make a site that was ABOUT the model, with no pressure. I wanted people to feel comfortable and be happy about what they are doing.”

Kitten’s site has since exploded. She has 36 different models, all with a wide variety of photosets available, varying in degrees of exposure and soft vs. hardcore ratings. It may seem a bit bizarre to virgin eyes, seeing people with amputated legs, for example, being totally open in their sexuality, no holds barred, but Kitten and her models all think their modeling is for the greater good, helping break stereotypes.

Jimi.

Jimi, 56, is one of the male quadriplegic models on the site. “I’m fairly new to modeling and I’ve been told I'm a nice looking man despite my age by many people. I love being nude too, so when I saw GGW (GimpsGoneWild.com) I knew I had to try it.” As for the things he loves most about modeling? “Showing others what I, a disabled man looks like when I’m being myself in a way that makes me feel important and accepted sexually.” Currently on GGW, Jimi is selling a photoset with the theme, “Relaxing After a Long Day.”

Back to “Kitten”

Kitten, the owner, as stated above is a tremendous fan of posing nude, and has one of the biggest variety of photosets available on the entire site. “I like the attention from men, and the positive reaction I have gotten from the disabled and non-disabled community. I like the image that I give the disabled person, that ‘Hey we ARE sexy too!’” Kitten has Osteogenesis Imperfecta (also known as “Brittle Bone Disease“) and is 37 years old. Her 3’4 stature is a draw for a lot of her fans. But sometimes, unfortunately, modeling hasn’t always been peachy keen.

“The guys who are rude, crude or think we are easy,” they are what makes modeling not so fun, she explains. “Or when they try to get freebies (free sets) from us. It’s a job as well, and we aren’t any different. I wouldn’t ask anyone else to do their job for free, why should we?”

Kitten sells photosets showing her posing on a motorcycle, posing in the surf, close-ups of her feet, working out with arm weights, wearing baby clothes, smoking, cooking, and dozens and dozens more showing her in different types of lingerie and sporting sexy bikinis. Clearly, Kitten more than adores the camera.

Gemini Blue.

Gemini Blue is another male model on the site. He has Arthrogryposis and stands out among the other photosets for his artistic, black and white photos. “I'm an artist, a thinker, and a lover,” he says on his page. “I love slow sex, and long post-sex cuddles. I believe that one of the ways we as a people can change our ways and help make people see how normal we are, is to show that we have the same wants and needs as everyone else, and in my opinion feeling sexy and having sex is both a want and a need.”

He started modeling for GGW after seeing them online. “I found the GGW page on the net and sent some photos in on a whim. A couple of days later they emailed me back, and a month later I sent in my first set of photos. Even before that, I was taking erotic photos of myself, and putting them on my artistic web page.”

Gemini says that since he started posing he’s realized it provides him an outlet to feel whole. “The thing I like most about modeling is the experimentation it allows me to do, both as an artist and as a sexual being.” He cautions interested models to really know what they want before they start modeling. “If you decided to do this, make sure you think about it, because your body is YOUR body.”

Gemini has only one photoset for sale on the site , citing finding decent lighting as his number one hindrance in taking more photos. His set is of him showering in his shower chair; titled, “Shower Seduction: Gemini is hot and wet in this set!”

Douglas (and his wife, Jenn)

Douglas Kemp has Muscular Dystrophy and is 36 years old. He and his wife Jenn both model for GGW. “It gives my wife and I a chance to express ourselves and it helps us be proud of our sexuality,” he explains. Both Douglas and his wife has severe Muscular Dystrophy and use a power chair. Douglas also has a permanent trach.

Since they started modeling, the major downside they say is that have to keep it a secret from some family and friends. “Because of misconceptions and stereotypes, we have to hide our involvement with the site from certain people.” The upsides are definitely worth it though, he assures. It not only provides them a decent part-time income, he says, but it’s also provided hysterical moments. “The funniest moment to date since modeling was when someone contacted my wife on MySpace regarding GGW, and she was completely embarrassed.”

“There is a misconception that disabled people are not sexual, and GGW proves it wrong.”

Douglas and Jenn sell photosets of them nude in front of a Christmas tree (blasphemy!), in bed together in various sexual positions (thanks to a ceiling lift), and masturbating one another from their wheelchairs using both their feet and hands.

What about the business side of the site? Kitten pays her models a decent percentage the sales from their photosets. “I pay the models 70% and the rest basically goes to the site’s maintenance. Sometimes I’ll sell one of my sets here and there, but I’ve been on a long time.” “The newer models do real well.” “I also used to run a site called ‘Enabling Elegance,’ a sister site of GGW, but it was tamer and didn't do real well. Goes to show that people like sexy more,” she laughs.

And for any naysayers or freak-outs out there who think her site is just plain wrong, she has this to say. “I want people to understand that we (disabled people) are adults, and think like anyone else. No one is exploited on the site, the models send in what THEY wish to model, and they do it for sheer expression. I want to express my gratitude to all those who have been supportive and been loyal fans. You all are great!”
